Shunt,

Are you in fresh or salt water. We always had some water in one of the starboard comparments, but it was fresh water and we determined it was a leaking window.

Great Story Shunt1 !

I have a leak of a different sort to deal with today. From the upstairs bathroom into the kitchen. The pulmber asked if I could wait till tommorrow and I quoted this forum. Never ignore a leak! He's coming today :-)

I love happy endings. I feel your pain, we had a similar experience about three weeks after we splashed ours for the first time. In retrospect the thing we did wrong was exactly the same. we should ahve pulled her as soon as she began to take on a little water. Live and learn. Glad it all worked out...

This is the same procedure we used for the 22 because the ramp was very shallow. Works fine the only problem is there is no way to do this without getting wet!

She's sitting in the driveway. We never got around to sprucing her up for pics to post on Craigslist and Ebay. Its on our to do list before we button her up for winter.

We still plan on letting her go. Just not up for doing the keel and we think the new boat will work better for us.

Stories like this are unfortunately too common. Last fall we had a late season TS threaten. We were about three weeks from pulling the boat for the season so we were torn about what to do. After consulting with some trusted old salts we decided to leave her in the water, but we went out to the moori...

A Maiden Voyage

After alot more work then we thought... isn't that always the way... we splashed our new wooden boat yesterday. The rehab involved stripping off the entire bottom and replacing it along with a number of framing peices. We reglassed the bottom, reinforced/replaced several areas where the rot was bad,...

We found that as per Capt Scott's descriptions, making off the lines which lead from the bridles to the cleats on the mast worked wonders for minor adjustments as the mast went up or down. Just as long as you are carefully when handling a line under strain. Slow and easy on the rasing and lowering s...

Not sure the actual dimensions, but when attached to the toe rails at the proper slots the ring at the apex of the bridle should be no higher then the mast step.

You may consider getting her some sailing lessons. It would probbaly increase her comfort level. An instrucor on your own boat would let her learn the cabability first hand

It can be a little tricky, but they are clearly marked and there is good room to pass by on either side. The bigger problem is the large shipping that comes through there. More tricky is the area between Stepping Stones Lighthouse and Kings Point Academy. There is a line between the light and a bouy...

Hmm maybe you are right, but unfortunately she is on the hard right now due to a keel bracket issue, also the reason why we will sell at such a discount, because other than that she's in great shape. ( Not as great as Lady Jo/Di though). She comes with a trailer, but no outboard, that we will move t...
