Take a look at this link, there is some drawings of the rudder assembly. The holes in the rudder would be for the ropes to pull the rudder up and down. http://chryslersailing.lizards.net/sail_rudder.html

Thanks for the replies. I have a 4x4 truck with a 7500lb trailer weight so pulling and launching shouldn't be a problem. My main concern is with stepping the mast as it is just me and the girlfriend who step the mast on our C22; if it is the same only taller on the C26 then we shouldn't have a probl...

Looking at C26's

After spending 2 days stuck anchored in a bay in the rain and 35-40 mph wind in my C22 I have started looking at C26's. I would like the space and head room of the 26. I see Chrysler changed the deck from 78 and 79. Does anyone know the reason for the change? I plan on keeping the boat in a slip but...

I used 3/8th's. A knot was not possible so I melted the end of the line into a little ball, this is what the line I removed had and I think it was original. I did test it using a pipe on a vice and pulled the new line trying to pull the melted end off and it didn't budge so I think it is more than s...

I just replaced the rudder line on my C22 last weekend using the following rudder drawings and I also added a small piece of PVC pipe where the rudder up line goes around the bolt. This acts kind of like a block as it spins with the line instead of just pulling the line against the bolt and made pul...

I'll try that next time out. On the last trip I put the keel all the way down then cranked it up only 1 or 2 turns.

Swing keel side to side movement

On our first splash when a wave would hit the boat from the side you could hear the the keel moving side to side hitting the hull. Is this normal or is there some thing that is suppose to prevent this? Thanks

It could be me but I don't see a size listed on the parts list, just the length. 1/2" seems a little large with todays rope. I think I will use a good 3/8".
Thanks

Factory C22 halyard size

Does anyone know what the original halyard size was or what is a good size. Right now the boat has 1/2" and there is just a knot tied to the wire shackle. This set up created problems while raising the main because of the giant knot on the jib halyard catching on everything. I want to buy the c...

I don't have an answer for you but I do have the same problem. There is water between the outer hull and inner shell and it slowly leeks into the compartment. I can see where it is coming from but how it got there i am at a loss. I have been sucking water out of the compartment for a couple months w...

backing plates

After my first splash headaches last Friday I am going to install the blocks to run the halyards to the cockpit before going out again. Are backing plates necessary seen as there is not much load on the blocks? If they are what did you use?

I came across trailer sailor when I first started looking for a sailboat. My first thought was "what a mess" so I didn't hang around there. I host a few sites at home with forums and that is some very poor forum software their using when there is several free programs to use that work great.

I'll go with tgentry on the red and green bow and white stern lights.

The all around mast light would be when you are at anchor.

Online sources for rigging

Being from Minnesota sailing shops are rather scarce. I have a West Marine but they do not carry much for sailing.

Where does everyone buy their gear from. I came across Mauri Pro Sailing and they seem to have a good selection and prices, has anyone ever ordered from them?

Thanks for all the photos, I guess its time to go shopping.

What is everyone doing on the inside, do you have backing plates or just using the cap nuts like the stock winches have?

Running C22 halyards to the cockpit

OK I haven't even sailed my C22 yet. I took my basic keelboat certification on a boat with the halyards run to the cockpit and I liked this over going to the mast to raise the sails. Can any one who has done this on a C22 post some pics on how you did it. I need to replace both halyards anyways so i...
