Copacetic's stove has gotten very cranky, so I'm thinking about just overhauling it. When it works, it works very well, but lately the valves are getting leaky and the pump isn't working well. We also have a Magma Kettle 2 propane grill on the pushpit, and it converts to a one burner stove. The prob...

Thanks for the story, it sounds a glorious day. I used to restore and race Triumph sports cars, and Amphicar used a Triumph Herald engine. I found one back in the mid 80's, in reasonable shape for $800, but passed it up because it needed paint and a top and I was busy with other car projects. I have...

Where did you mount your solar panels? Where is your built in water tank? How about some pics of your bimini and side curtain arrangement? We've not gone the refrigerator route, instead we have a 2 cooler system. One for drinks, and the other for food. That way the food cooler only gets opened once ...

I had a chance to experiment with the carabiner last week. Due to a port tie, our very curved sides and a lot of prop walk from my big 4 blade prop, I found that to get the behavior I want from the boat I need to attach the line almost at the pushpit stanchion. Note that prop walk and wind direction...

My Sailing Vacation
My girlfriend Kristi and I spent a wonderful week aboard Copacetic in Racine, WI. We sailed some of the time and just hung out at the dock some of the time. With breezes off the lake temps were quite comfortable on the water, except for July 4 when wind came from the west (land). I think the highlig...

Plans for Independance Day?
We're planning to spend the week at the boat. My slip has a great view of Racine's fireworks display, the rest of the time will be spent sailing or just messing about with boats, as we choose.
How about the rest of you?

I got a main sail cover and a jib bag from an ebay seller a while back. I was happy with them I bought another jib bag, so now I have one for the 110 and one for the 150. My newest idea is to attach a small line to the inside of the bags near the zipper to give me something to clip the hanks onto wh...

If you have an old laptop, OpenCPN is free. Electronic charts are free from NOAA, in your choice of two formats. You'll need a gps puck (about $30 on ebay). Optionally, for cockpit use I added a IMO USB screen (ebay $50) and a small bluetooth touchpad/keybad which resembles a blackberry (ebay $20). ...

I think I might just try using a snap hook or carabiner a time or two. Ultimately, I might try something this interesting and economical idea. It also seems like it would spread the load a bit.

C-26 Mid-ship cleat?
Has anyone put a mid-ship cleat on a C-26? I find docking the C-26 in situations where I'm being blown away from the dock to be pretty challenging, in part due to the lack of "vectored thrust". A little reading and experimentation suggests a line from a mid-ship cleat on the boat to the st...

10 hours of sailing = A great night's sleep
Saturday we took Copacetic out. Sunny, 15 knot southern breeze, one foot waves... It doesn't get better than that. After sailing aimlessly for a little bit, we decided to head for Kenosha even though it was straight into the wind. Southern Lake Michigan was so flat that we saw 12-14' aluminum fishin...

C26 Mainsheet Block Upgrade
I just wanted to share a modification that works for me. I never liked the stock mainsheet block on Copacetic. It was difficult to lock without being right there, and almost useless from the port side. I upgraded to a Harken 240 swivel block, and now I'm wondering why I didn't do it sooner! It engag...
