Very rough way of doing it but it will give you and idea how its done.

I order from West Marine all the time. That's where I get all of my fiberglass and resin supplies. The store I use is out of Vancouver.
There doesn't seem to be delays unless they have to order in from their U.S. stores and if they do they haven't charged me any extra fees for it.

Glad to hear that the splice worked well for you though. I find anything spliced to be a very elegant option. Something about old fashioned skills still serving a purpose...satisfying.

Well I kept searching and I guess I answered my own question...more or less.

I was wondering if anyone here knows how to splice wire rope. I'm am particularily interested in the liverpool and lock-tuck splices.

Thanks for your explanation. That seems like a very easy trial setup and a lot cheaper than the full setup...which is a nice start.

I am just trying to figure out if I will be adjusting the leads enough to warrant the purchase of those e z glide genoa cars.

I was looking at some adjustable fairleads from Garhauer marine.

I can't seem to find the picture but I mounted my controls in the port cockpit locker.
I just open up the locker when I need to use the controls and sit on the starboard side or stand. Works awesome, keeps the weather off the controls, and keeps the cockpit clean of levers, keys, and such.

No I've never seen those.

I will take lots of photos when I do it, but I am thinking it might be closer to September. That way I will have the winter to fab a new shoe and a plan of attack as to fitting the new shoe to old sailboat.

It's getting close to that time of the year where another boat load of projects are to be done.
One major one that everyone wants to have done but is exhausted just thinking about it, is to jack up their boat and rebuild the keel shoe/pin on a C-26.

I do have the blocks but it doesn't seem to provide a sufficient angle of attack. My blocks foul easily.

That is somewhat of a tough question to answer. I don't remember what the interior of a finished chrysler looks like. I gutted mine about two years ago, so I have access to everything.
I am slowly rebuilding the boat. Slowly.

The oem on the C-26 is Barlow 15's. Not too sure the specs on that.
I did order the andersen #18 ST. I will let you know how it goes.
As for changing lines, mine are all old old old and I need and excuse to buy new ones. That being said all that will have to be changed are the genoa sheets.

It's an awesome motor. quiet, reliable, powerful, and fairly good on fuel.

I have decided to go with the andersen #18. I just found out it's on sale too.

Hey I found some winches on sale and am wondering what people think, if they are too small or if they will work.
They are Anderson #12ST for 394.00. They have a gear ratio of 1.3:1 and a
power ratio of 9.5:1
They seem a little small but the anderson website does size them for the C-26.

In your opinion if the traveler was mounted in the cockpit would a person get enough travel or would it be best to mount it on the cabin top?

I took some time to answer my own questions.
Couldn't find a kit but was able to piece it all together...expensive!
Also the one I did price out was only a 2:1 purchase which is a little low for me.
The mechanics of it seem simple and easy to clean though.
