A great weekend!

Well contrary to the high winds on the east coast, here in the Puget sound area we've had some nice breezes!


Friday started out interesting. I've been shopping for a tiny little boat trailer for my 10 foot Avon. With my daughter off to school the use of this dinghy will likely drop to about 3 weeks a year all in one shot! So I want to store it at home. Been watching an add about the perfect trailer but the owner completely dissassembled it. Finally Friday I agreed to go look. Turns out to be a steal trailer with some surface rust but has about 65% life still in it. So I bought it cheap, loaded all the parts in my PU, and took it home! Saturday was work around the house day so in between honey do's I assembled the trailer. NICE! NExt weekend I'll probably bring the dinghy home. This does however spell the beginning of the end of one of my C22's. I need the space!

A visit to my house Saturday eveing would have cought my wife and I enjoying a non PG movie without concern for kids walking in! Sipping wine and just being together.

Sunday I gathered 4 friends and we took Destiny out for about 5 hours! BEautiful sail out around HATT Island! Flew the spinnaker on the last long leg home but the wind finally let us down. We dropped from a good 4.8 kts SOG to about two and the spinnaker could BARELY stay filled. So, we dropped the spinnaker, fired up the iron lung, and motored the last mile in. The five of us stuffed ourselves into my friends truck and homeward bound we were. I arrived home just in time to catch my daughter and wife on Skype! So we chatted for about an hour and a half. Still tough to hang up though. Very tough. Finally the sun was down, I was wiped out and just hit the sack!

All and all, a nice time!
