Stern-mount rudder... modified main rigging

Post by squint »

Hey folks!

My boat came with a stern-mounted rudder. To make it work, the PO set up a very simple trangulated rigging for the mainsheet. Has anyone else got pictures of a stern-mounted rudder with a traveller setup?

I really like the space that the stern-mount gives me, but I'm not a fan of the resulting mainsheet rigging.

The prior owner moved the rudder to the transome. He took part of the original traveler track and built the frame in the picture to hold it above the tiller.

Wag4513,

Thanks so much for sending me the pic. Your cockpit sure looks nice & clean without the safety bars around the back... I've been considering doing the same on my boatI'm planning on putting a ladder on the stern, so I may do that this winter.

Is the rudder a kick-up? Mine is fixed, which limits my boat's "beachability".

I also noticed you cabin cover... any more pics of that?
