A great day is when you get to work on 2 different C-22's .

Its getting very nice weather here so yesterday morning I was doing more wood work on my C-22 ,( Yes I still plan on selling it but I would like to finish a few more projects) Then I went and helped with the lighting on another C-22 with very good success on both.

Hows everyones winter projects going? I was planning to have much more done on the C-22 but the C-26 got to be a distraction.

Geez, I can't even get myself working on 1 boat !

I'll have to admit I've been a slug with projects this last few months.

I replaced the impellor and fluids on the old Honda outboard that I bought. It is ready to go. I rigged up an engine hoisting and lowering "system" using a nylon cam buckle strap. It's a "redneck" setup, but it allows engine hoisting by pulling one strap from the cockpit. I leave it under tension to alleviate pressure on the transom. That old Honda is quite heavy. I also removed the engine mount, inspected the transom core (it looked great), and rebedded the mount with butyl tape. I love that stuff. My new lexan portlights are installed. I installed them into the frames with butyl tape, and installed them using 3M 4200. My 22 has white vinyl cushions for the cockpit and aft dinette seats. They looked pretty bad, so I sprayed them with Rustoleum vinyl dye. That stuff works great, it contains solvents that melt it to the existing vinyl so it doesn't flake off, it looks really good. I injected a finishing resin into the delaminated spot on the deck, it is now as hard as a rock. After drying out the core under the lifeline stanchions for a couple of months, I injected some Smith's CPES that I bought from The Rot Doctor, let it cure for a week, then injected it with the finishing resin. I still need to redrill the holes and bed the stanchions. That's about it for now, almost ready! I have some new keel brackets and pin, but I think that can wait until next winter. The old ones are pretty rusty, but I think they've got enough meat on them for another season or two.

My boom finally arrived from Detroit. Took it a mere 4 months. The gooseneck is not compatible but other than that it's great! Been replacing all the plywood storage covers. The varnish was cracking. Cut several new ones and am sanding and refinishing the rest. Also began getting my lines together. Measured and cut lines for the main and jib sheets. The plans for the rudder post and cheeks are at the welder. I have a tiller and 2 fittings that go on the top of the tiller post, but not the H shaped that connects the two. May have to cast it or make it up from some aluminum stock.

My big concern still is the swing keel pin. Don't know why the PO took the nuts off the bolts and then left them on the deck. Plan is to install new nuts and back it into the local lake to see if she leaks. There is so much more to do on this boat. Today we got a foot of snow but I know spring is very close.

Spring is coming to our area too!

I did all the fluids in my Honda and got it running nice. I need to do a good scrub job to get some small spotty growth stuff all my top deck, then do a nice waxing of everything, which hasn't been done in years!

Plan on flying the spinnaker this year and will have to put a couple blocks and cleats to make it more user friendly from the cockpit.

Hope to have it ready to launch here in a couple weeks, earliest I've done that so far, then focus on my project boat

Heres the table for the C-22

What should I seal it with that will resist spills? I might stain it to look darker to match the other teak.

Even at this rate it might not be ready to sell till next year.
