What do you all use for bedding your v-births??? I find the standard cushions to be way too firm...looking at eliminating them entirely. I can get a king size 4" memory foam pad from ebay for 130 delivered, cut it to fit and use the left over triangles to double up yielding an 8" cushion. I am a little concerned that this might be a little too soft though???

I was planning the exact same thing.... I love memory foam , it is very comfy and very resiistant to absorbing water and has a "cool" feel.

I wasn't sure however if you can just cut it with a blade or scissors like regular foam or does it have to be sealed somehow at the edge.

Do you know what you will do to cover them, make your own ? do you know how much fabric for the v-berth? Do you plan on changing the shape of the cushions so as to get to the storage easier?

Sounds comfy, but you might find the 8" thickness to be limiting headroom-wise. I put a small inflatable mattress in mine as test,and it flet like I was trying to slide myself into a mail slot. I think it was 6" thick.

A queen sized areo bed fits athwart ships in the cabin aft of the V berth on our 22. Just another option.

I have done the queen air matress aft the v-berth...fits nicely, but takes up too much room...I wish i knew how to make a v shaped air matress cause that would be the ticket for the v-berth. Then it could be deflated during the day and stuffed out of the way...

The previous owner had replaced all the cushions with 4 inch foam. It makes a nice soft bed.

It does take up the entire cabin, makes getting to the por a potty a real experience. Its not something I would want to do on the regualr, but we over nighted only once.

I don't know if its just me, but I do like a firm bed. I sleep like a baby when I'm aboard, and I use the v-birth. For potty access at night, I just slide it outside and problem solved

If you are cutting foam, use an electric knife as it " saws " and cuts evenly.

I bought a NOVAFORM memory foam mattress topper from Costco when it was on sale.
It works awesome. Will probably by another one and cut it for the other berths.
