foam wet

Post by tnc110 »

all of my metal caps that insert into the holes where the foam was pumped into my boat are either gone or rusted to pieces. i stuck my finger in one of the holes and there is a good bit of water in there. anyone have any ideas how to dry out the compartment before i put new plugs in?

A good shop vac or the vacuum at a carwash Try to get a good seal so it will be forced to suck the water from deepin the foam.

Drill small holes at the bottom where the seat meets the sole.

A project that I always wanted to do was to cut square access holes in the setee, and install some storage boxes over there (after removing some of the foam of course) Kinda like coaming boxes, but in the cabin.

Gus,
I haven't forgotten you - just haven't been to the boat as I expected I would. Will get you the measurements for the OEM Catalina 22 boxes soon I get over there hopefully Weds.

I think I might follow your lead on this idea myself
