tape

Post by javelin »

Just got back from the Toronto Boat Show. I always like visiting the little booths to see new products. Bought some unique *tape*. It is made of silicon and comes in various colours. No glue. When you use it, it sticks to itself. Much better than white plastic tape. Good for the boots on the shrouds. $ 25. for three rolls. Also bought those kind of cushions that bend to make a chair or backrest. Thought it was mickey mouse originally but tried it out and they really work. $40. each in dark blue. Loved the interior of the big sailors but for $ 250000 I think my old 26 will be just fine indeed !

Sounds like fun. I just got my tickets to Strickly Sail Chicago. The largest indoor boat show in North America! I can't wait!

I'm definately going to look for that tape.

Thanks

That tape is great stuff. The military uses it for non chafe wrap in wiring harness saddle clamps, as well as many other applications. It can be found here: http://www.rescuetape.com/

Yup, Rescue tape.
There is a video on Lats and Atts web site here.
We carry several roles aboard Destiny. Good stuff.

Thanks for bringing back good memories. I used a lot of this tape during my days in the Airforce, had almost forgotten about it. I'll be sure to order some, you can use it almost anywhere.

Minneapolis Boat Show opens this Tuesday, Going Saturday.
Not a lot of sailing stuff, but still fun to look at all the boating stuff.
Sure does help us get through the days of hard water (ice).

Hey Goose,
We're going to the Chicago show Saturday. We'll be in and out of seminars when we're not wandering the aisles. Come to think of it, we SHOULD be wandering the isles.

went to NYC boat show.... sadly only two sailboats.... a small little sunfish type and beneteau brought a new 40 footer.... gorgeous but no mast.. almost everyone there thought s was a powerboat... anyway... had a bout four vendors pitching this self stick silicone tape... seemed impressive... guy was there selling the Grip It screw extractor... for show special $25 he was selling a bunch of them ..I was this close to buying it.... held off ... saw it at Home Depot this weekend for $19-- exactly same thing...

I always wear some thing "bright" to be found by friends. This year its gonna be an orange nautica sweatshirt. If you see a guy with black hair in his early thirties wearin this, say hi.
