I got yet another Chrysler

Post by Chrysler20%26 »

Outboard (that Is) I spent a nice day with sailbob2, an came home with the Chrysler, companionway stairs, an head door from his boat. The Chrysler Sailer is a 10hp (280) I think it is a 280. Lookes like the one I have on my C-26. Elc. start, Elc. chock, with the remote contros. I plan to use it on my Mac 25. I like Elc. start an remote contros. I now have 3 sailboats & 6 outboards. Honda 4hp 26" shaft, 9.9 Chrysler Sailer not a 280 26" shaft, Neson 4hp 4-stork 20" shaft, Chrysler Sailer 26" shaft (280) 12.9, Chrysler Sailer (Autolictric Model) 15hp 34" shaft (Not A 280) An now the 10hp. So You Could Say I am Powerd Up. My boat did not come with the stairs, an door. Varry Happy to have all, Thank You Sailbob2

Wow !

"I think" the 10hp was the Sailor 250.
12.9 is the 280.
The 6hp was the 180

EE is right, the 9.9 is a Sailor 250. The 12hp, Sailor 280 was made in 1979 only as far as I can tell. There is quite a bit of parts interchangeability between them.

My Chrysler 10 hp sailor burned up when my impeller went out. I am now looking for a new outboard. 20&26 would you be interested in selling one?

Yah, we had a great visit, Bob (Chrysler20%26), My son Joe and myself went out for chinese food. This was the first time Bob's been to my home, His home is near where I dock my Chrysler. I was able to clear out some of my barn thanks to Bob (btw - forgot to give ya the gas tank) Bob's becoming a great friend and he is more than willing to help with others boat projects great guy all around (thanks Chrysler Board for introducing us)
BTW - guys I have a main sail and a couple of jibs for sale the main is for a 26 chrysler and the jibs are for the same but are for a foil (no hanks). Not sure what they are worth if anyone is interested let me know. (My sail maker says they have some life left in them)

Usefull info

Post by Chrysler20%26 »

Thank you all, vary usefull info, sorry but I wont be saleing any outboards. An yes to parts enter chang able be twen 10hp (250 & 12.9 280) I like the elc. start, an beaning able to charge batteries under way. My 9.9 is a 1986 that has a much small prope, non elc. My plan for my 15 auto, 34" shaft is this. I would like to take the rudder off my C-26 & glass in the hole. I leave my outboard in the water all the time, an would like to add a rudder to the outboard. To my nolage this has never been done. But I would like to try it.

The 'exploded view' of the tilt bracket is what I need! Has this been scanned and uploaded? Where could I see it?

Thanks!
