Can someone help me. I've got a 1980 C-22 with Doyle sails. The mainsail
does not seat in the boom track from the tack to the clew. There is a groove in the top of my rectangular boom for a tension traveller to slide, but under wind load the sail gaps open along it's foot. Is this normal or is something supposed to be in that pocket along the sail's foot to seat it in that groove on the boom ??? It sails ok as is, but it seems sloppy, you know. Any info would help.
Thanks

Loose footed main, huh?
Wonder what the reason for that would be ? Seems to spill a lot of air.
I think I will try to feed some cord into foot pocket and thread through groove and see what happens. The pocket is used for this tensioning elastic and straps, but there's room for more. Photos would be great and thanks for the responses all.
