Anyone in the north east

Post by NYCSAILOR »

Ok, call it jealousy... or loneliness...

I see those on NC and PNW getting together..

Anyone here from the Northeast, I know of the legendary FranS, but anyone else,

Curious, when people ask you what kind of boat do you have, do you just say.." a chrysler" or do you give a litle history lesson too... just curious what you say ( other than a "old" boat) funny wise cracks are very well welcome in this thread too.

hmmm... with fiat buying chrysler.... I wonder if that makes our boats "reborn" as a stylish Italian europoean boat. from a sturdy solid Texan cruiser...

LOL!

I love when the "Buy American" arguement comes up! It always does then folks ask "What do YOU have!"

Easy!

1 Harley,
2 Fords,
2 Chevys,
2 Chryslers!!!!!

LOL! Then the guessing game begins and NO ONE has guessed what model Chryslers I have! LOL!

Yes, I do buy American!

Yup, me too.

1 Harley Davidson, 1960 Panhead.

2 Dodge 1 Ton Pickup trucks.

1 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

4 Chryslers
(1 Sebring convertible, 1 C-22 Sailboat, 2 ea. 9.9 Sailor 250 Outboards)

No foreign iron in my driveway but, of course, I live in the Detroit area. Just doin' my part. Like the CW song says, "In the real world, they're shuttin' Detroit down."

BTW, one of the outboards will be for sale soon.

I wouldn't mention the "ownership" thing in front of your boat. I think they prefer the expression "in your care".

i have a dock at a friends house near storms island and i have to have a good reliable motor because the electric lines that go to the island are lower than the mast. the winds are tricky because of the mtns. around the lake but they make for some great color in the fall.

Last night, I was sailing on a friends boat out of Allen Harbor (http://tinyurl.com/allenharbor), and there I spotted another C22! She looked very pretty on her mooring.

Yes, it's a Honda 9.9...
It's a bit heavy, but not too heavy. It's probably more power than we need, but it came with the boat at a great price.

There have been times out on the bay when we've been glad we had it. For example, when the Tall Ships were in Newport, everyone with a boat was out on the water. Some power boats were throwing 6' wakes. We found it safest to motor home that day.
