Hey all!
I'm back!

My family and my brother in laws family all went to Kodiak Island Alaska for just over a week!

My wifes uncle owns a hunting and fishing lodge on Zachar Bay where we went to visit and have a small but very moving memorial for Dianes father who passed a year ago.

The place is feakin awesome! How awesome you ask? well, my 19yr old daughter flew home with us, will be quitting her job today and will fly right back to Kodiak for a summer job at the lodge!

I have not even uploaded all the photots yet but when I do, I will share some here!

We went hiking and fishing for halibut! I managed to pull a 656lb fish from the depths of around 300 feet! The captain had to harpoon it 3 times, and then shoot it twice to bring it aboard! WOW! What fun! Yes, I have photos of that also! Funny thing, it is no where near as big as the "BIG" ones! however next to the 15lb fish it was huge!

Our freezer is stuffed with mostly halibut but also includes 1 salmon, rock and a couple of Alaska Cod fish! To the tune of 50 lbs!

I'll add photos in the next few days!

Yeah, that is me first time I brought the fish up, I was tired the third time! LOL!

Holding the normal halibut catch and the big one! While not absolutley huge, it is big!

All family except the kid in the hat. He is now my daughters boyfriend! My daughter is the young lady hidden by the hat. Other girl is my niece
My bride to the right. the rest are inlaws of some form or another!

For those interested, here is the website for the lodge:

I can not say enough for these guys. Yes, all family. Dianes uncle, aunt, and cousins all own and run the place. Now my daughter will be there for the rest of the summer!

That was a Halibut!
I do have the photos and will share them soon!

The fish we brought home was already cleaned and deboned!
So the 50lbs is pure meat! Yeah baby! My freezer is indeed very happy!

I've also heard there are sturgeon also in lake Washington. NEver fished for them though!

If you watch deadliest catch you probably saw the episode where a boat was caught in pack ice and pushed aground. Helicpter rescue, etc etc.

Well, the owners wife is a good friend of my wife. We spent Friday evening at there house drinking some wine and enjoying a most spectacular view of the ocean from his living room.

He was not there so I did not meet him but his wife is very nice!

Awesome!! That looks like somewhere I would love to go, even at the risk of finding cold weather.
