Show me your stern rail, please.

I have this half-baked idea for the stern rail I want to create for Believer. I'm not sure whether I'll do it in SS or maybe painted conduit, since my plan would require some custom bending. Would you share photos of your stern rail for inspiration?

Here's what I have in mind so far. I'd like it to extend around the corners and forward 18" or so, to give me something to lean against. Those low coamings just don't look all that comfortable to me. I was even considering using pool noodles as padding on the rails while sailing. They'd store in the boat when not in use. Then I was going to put a pair of uprights about 30 inches apart, centered on the stern. My ladder is mounted dead center, with the outboard mounted off to to port. I envisioned a railing that makes a loop out over the ladder, kind of like what you see on water towers and such. In the center of that I was going to put a roller. That would serve as a mast rest for both trailering and raising the mast.

I'll try to do a sketch in SketchUp to clarify what I'm describing.

In the best tradition of the USMC, Change 1 to Plan A.

Forget about that 18" up the sides. There's too much stuff in the way; a dock cleat, a jam cleat, and a winch on each side and all within that 18". Got the measurements though and will work up something in SketchUp this afternoon, I hope.
