Outer Banks-We are here!
Arrived in Oriental Sat. Launched Sunday and encountered 3 foot waves on the Neuse. High tailed it to Adams Creek and sailed in protected waters to Beaufort. 22 miles with no tacking! A first for me. Staying at the Beaufort docks. Very nice. I have at least three million dollar boats within a few feet of me. Stuck our nose out of the inlet into 6 foot waves and turned tail back to the dock yesterday. Currently raining and 30 MPH winds out of the NE. We'll be tied up today.
Downtown Beaufort is a neat place. Plenty to see and do on a rainy day. There is a Chocolate store on the main street about three or four blocks from the waterfront. It is well worth the walk. I'm sure if you ask people will give you directions.
This is the first rain we've gotten in 3 weeks, it's overdue and supposed to rain through Thursday morning here in Aiken.
Stay safe, Chuck
