Anyone near Augusta GA?

Post by N41EF »

After seeing post by people putting boats away for the weekend, and after spend two weeks cleaning old underwear and waterlogged d-cell batteries out of storage pockets, I'm ready to go to the lake. My keel cable is shiny and new, I've rigged the sails, cleaned the carb and run the outboard, and generally checked things out. I verified with USAA that I'm covered under my homeowners insurance, and have the temp registration for SC. My new trailer tires should be installed Weds, and I'm picking up a new extinguisher tonight.

What am I missing?

I have a battery charged, and will hook up a depth finder temporarily until I install a breaker panel in a few weeks. I have a chart of the lake, and two portable GPS units. The lake is small enough that there is good cell phone coverage around it (actually have ridden my bicycle around it).

Anyone want to meet at Strom Thurmond lake and see if it really floats?

Look up.

When stepping the mast, when towing the trailer to the ramp afterstepping the mast, and while sailing!

Life jackets for all.

Keep your wits about you and common sense!!!
