Running out of time!

Well, I've resigned myself to not getting the boat in the water AND not getting it painted before storage. Rats!!

Blew my back out, again, a few weeks ago and it's steadily gotten worse. L5-S1 to any of you who are savvy. Had an operation on it last year to remove the herniation, but not a full-blown fusion. Now it's herniated again and REALLY cramping my style. Lot's of pain, but like I always say, "Better living through chemistry!"

After a little Betty Ford cocktail, I went for a little walk out the southern arm of the Muskegon breakwall. That be Lake Michigan in the background.

What a beautiful day for a sail!!!

Put mine in the water for the first time on Sunday. I picked to small a lake (Lake Orion) and the boat launch is to shallow. Still had a good time.

Mark...if it is any consolation, I too have resigned myself to another season of not getting the boat into the water yet. It is the same water for me but on the other side of the Lake.

Get your back healthy and next year is on its way. Good Luck.

Sorry about your back Mark, I have the same problem, L5-S1. I went to Dynamic Rehab about a year ago and they really helped.

Sorry to hear about your back I have to be careful but sailing always helps my back pain but this wet weather is a pain below the back.

Come on Mark!
your way behind. I resolved to not get my boat sailing in August.

I then resolved myself to finishing my conversion on my barn in order to massage the boat in it.

One 9' x 9' steel sliding door complete with new headers and about 85 hours in labor, and she should be going in this week
(pics to come, don't worry)

You really must get with it Mark, giving up early is how we talk ourselves in to winter projects! lol

Sorry to hear about your back Mark, I hope your feeling better soon. The remainder of the week may be a rough one for you with these Indian Summer weather predictions. I suggest going to a quiet room with your computer, pulling down the shades and getting onto http://www.sailx.com . It's a great sailing simulator, plus it's free!, Be careful though, it can be addicting... and I hear that if you do it too much, you may go blind.

I hurt my back about 30 years ago and it ain't been right since. I've come to the conclusion it's just a bad design. Vicodin, on the other hand, is a stroke of genius. Good luck Mark.

Surgeon says today it's time to fuse it. Not enough left in place to salvage. Now the battle with insurance bureaucracy!
