What are these two things on my bow rail for?

So, playing cleanout the boat, found a few pair of underwear, tightie whities in case you are taking a poll, when I noticed these two things on the bow rail. Two stainless strap type things with rather sharp edges and latches that go over them. What are they?

They are anchor brackets.

That took six minutes, you guys are way slower than the Land Rover and Porsche forums I frequent.

So, you have the anchor there underway so it is easy to release? Clipped in place so you can drop it in case of emergency?

Actually, the delay on replying was our fault. YOu see, you'd mentioned an english vehicle in your stable. It is because of this we all assumed you were a tad slow . . . . .

Anchor and convenience.
FYI On the bow for sailing is one of the worst places to store weight.
It will increase any hobby horsing in heavy seas . . . . . Granted though, most of us don't care. :)
