First Race on the C20... or Ever !

First race was August 25 with the Creek Fleet Sailing Club over at Stony Creek Metropark in Rochester, MI. We took first in our class (we were the only ones), but dead dead last in the overall race. What a riot! I had my little brother, his wife and two lovely daughters aboard. My wife thinks I've been obsessing about sailing, but I won't worry until I start talking like a pirate (full time that is ), then I have to search for some group therapy or something. Anyone out here that can recommend someone just in case?

Thursday we're off to Hubbard Lake, MI ! 8900 acres : ))) for Labor Day weekend, I promised the better half I wouldn't drag the boat to the local metropark, or even talk about it until then, but I'll surely be thinking about it!!!!! :roll:

EE is right on the money and we can keel haul people we don't like and when they see the keel from the bottom in the water they realize how nice our sailboats are.

From being out in our C20 several times now...it seems to need some descent winds to get up and move. It's got a a somewhat lowish SA/Displ (18.35). Looks like some of the smaller boats were moving better in the light air. We were out again this past weekend with 11 people on board (4 adults and 7 kids under 10). 10-15mph winds and seemed we had some descent speed. Kids had fun water dragging behind the boat, climbing to the front, and playing "war" with the cards in the cabin. I'll be curious to know how you place if you race in some better winds...keep us posted! I'd like to try one of the regattas on Lake Red Rock by us sometime (probably not with 7 kids aboard).
