It appears he wasn't making any headway, just recovered from a broach perhaps. I guess calling starboard doesn't count as the tanker trumps him with tonnage rights! haha.

His spinnaker was just flopping around. I think he realized he was in trouble, tried to turn out of it and only made it worse. Guess he should have stayed his original course. Might have gotten off with nothing worse than scratched paint if it hadn't been for that anchor.

My question is... why was a tanker that large doing in such a congested waterway to start with? :?

The skipper of the sailboat was just wrong. I wonder if he tries to race trains to a railroad crossing.

That guy was lucky he was only dis-masted.
1000 miles later the skipper of the tanker was wondering where that ugly pink sail cloth on his anchor came form :?

One of my neighbors backing out of the river. Image The boat just off the starboard bow is closer than I would want to be.
