Rudder question

Got my rudder carved out of foam & carbon fiber. Test fit the rudder blade to the newly made cheeks and post. My boat came without either of these. In my mind's eye I envisioned the rudder leading edge parallel to the post when in the down & locked position. I followed the plans and find mine angles back some when the front of the blade contacts the bottom of the post. I also noticed the drawing (see the one proposed for the back of the tee shirt) shows the rudder angled back. Is that where it should end up or do I need to carve some more foam?
