New here and to sailing
Hello,
I just purchased a 1975 Buccaneer with Chrysler trailer from a friend at church that had the boat given to him from the original owner. It is missing the spool/reel for the jib. I have read where this gets changed to a wire luff on these older boats is that recommended? The jib sail needs replaced so if a change is in order this seems like the time to do it. I will search posts also.
The owner said that he never sailed with the jib thought it was gone but I found it stuffed in the bow. I have never sailed always wanted to so now I get the chance to learn.
Thanks for any suggestions.
David

Buccaneer manual
Hello David
There is a link to the Bucc manual in this forum.
Do a search for updated manuals.
I had a hard time finding one.
Take care

Hey Coyote...welcome! You're gonna like that Bucc. Fast, easy to sail and you'll learn a lot quickly. My first sail boat was a Bucc and I wish I still had it. This is the place to be for Chrysler info, great guys. They didn't flog me or make me walk the plank when I sold the Bucc. Now I'd like to find another or perhaps the LS-16. Good luck!

There is no right way to do a wrong thing
Thanks I have a few things to take care of on the boat won,t make the water this year. I have to replace the wood under the mast base noticed the screws loose found a small block of wood in a pocket that opens to the aft makes replacing difficult.sharps4590 wrote:Hey Coyote...welcome! Welcome to the crew,
Nice looking boat you have there. We of course will want all the details of your sailing adventures. You've mastered avitar and photo posting on your first thread. Looking GOOD!
Keep up the good work.
Thanks
Alan
