No. I dont think that's right.
My Main actually has a 1/4 to 3/8" round cord/rope sewed inside the sail. This cord threads through the groove and the size of the cord keeps the foot of the sail attached to the boom

Hope this helps

That just sucks. My wife and I had our car broke into on our way to the NC coast. Stayed the night in Raleigh Durham. Maybe it's worse then we think.
Hope you are back on the water soon.

Hi Mike, I hook 1 strap on to the bridle and the other strap to the round part of the first tie down hook. Then back to your mast and gin pole. I didn't think about having them slide. That might work too! Then just use 1 strap looped thru. We always raise and lower the mast w/ 2 people. It will work...

Yes, That is the only way my wife and I raise and lower our mast.
One thing I have found is I started using tie down straps for the supports. Then I can loosen or tighten the supports as needed. This keeps the mast from swinging side to side.
Hope this makes sense to everyone.

Venice,

Hi Hot Dot, Just read your post and all the remarks after. Sounds like fun. I was raised in Venice and know the waters from Sarasota south to Englewood. I still have family in the area (Bradenton to Englewood) now! Family moved there in 1969. Englewood was a little fishing town back then and Nokomis...

Hi Guys, Thought I would give my 2 cents on this. We had a 6 hp merc 4-stroke w/ a pull start. Last year when I injured my shoulder we had no way to start the motor. So we could not sail all summer. Last June, we were pulling out the C-22 around dusk. I have to go in about up to my knees at this ramp. I have used this ramp many times. Of course I slipped on the moss. Tried to catch myself and ripped out my shoulder from the socket. Thought I broke my arm. (Wish I would have, it would have been ...

Hey Scott,
Yes the 6 hp was plenty for our C-22. We have sailed w/ that motor in some big water on the east coast. 2-4ft waves and headwind 15-20 and we moved right along.
I am sure yours will do great.

I purchased a 4 stk 6 hp merc last year. I keep it in a heated garage over the winter. Last spring it kept sputtering and giving me fits. Took it in on warranty and they almost did not repair it.
