No. I dont think that's right.
My Main actually has a 1/4 to 3/8" round cord/rope sewed inside the sail. This cord threads through the groove and the size of the cord keeps the foot of the sail attached to the boom
Hope this helps

Hi Mike, I hook 1 strap on to the bridle and the other strap to the round part of the first tie down hook. Then back to your mast and gin pole. I didn't think about having them slide. That might work too! Then just use 1 strap looped thru. We always raise and lower the mast w/ 2 people. It will work...

Venice,
Hi Hot Dot, Just read your post and all the remarks after. Sounds like fun. I was raised in Venice and know the waters from Sarasota south to Englewood. I still have family in the area (Bradenton to Englewood) now! Family moved there in 1969. Englewood was a little fishing town back then and Nokomis...

I just got a great deal on a new tiller on e-bay. I have worked on my old one for 3 years to keep it good and finally said no more. The original length is around 40-43" If you look at www.idasailor.com they have new ones their. I have also heard of some using a wooden axe handle for temporary. ...

C-22 outboard
Hi Guys, Thought I would give my 2 cents on this. We had a 6 hp merc 4-stroke w/ a pull start. Last year when I injured my shoulder we had no way to start the motor. So we could not sail all summer. My wife can not pull the the rope hard enough when the shaft is in the water. ( hard to get leverage ...

Talking about a "show"
Last June, we were pulling out the C-22 around dusk. I have to go in about up to my knees at this ramp. I have used this ramp many times. Of course I slipped on the moss. Tried to catch myself and ripped out my shoulder from the socket. Thought I broke my arm. (Wish I would have, it would have been ...

Making your Boat cushions
Morning, I have seen many of you talking about making your own cushions. We have just about finished ours. Will show pics when done. Here is a tip I learned many years ago customizing vans. (back in the "60's) When you are ready to cut your foam. Borrow your wifes Electric Knife, the one you us...

Hi Mike
Welcome aboard this forum. As you have seen lots of good people and good advice. As far as trailering our C-22 we take it to the Albemarle Sound twice a year. it is the body of water the Outer Banks protects. 28 miles wide and average 20 ft deep/ Intracoastal goes right thru it. We have a condo ther...

Hi, I'm with Ron. The more boats we saw, the more we liked our Chryslers. One of the motor yachts we boarded had beautiful woodwork. I talked w/ the salesman about the show and how sales were going. He has 540 month financing! That's 45 years. I was stunned. That is what got the U.S in the problem w...

talking about outboards
I purchased a 4 stk 6 hp merc last year. I keep it in a heated garage over the winter. Last spring it kept sputtering and giving me fits. Took it in on warranty and they almost did not repair it. The mechanic told me what to do each time out. Un-hook the gas line and let the engine run till it dies....

I learned the hard way too! Going down the highway I had my rudder tied up w/ a line between the 2 tiedown hooks on the transom. From the bouncing it ended up sliding off and the rudder is now grinding down the freeway. A friendly driver pulled up next to me and got me to pull over. Wow! That was a ...
