I am in the process of designing a galley that is partially collapsable and slides back into the rear berth area, so I can have the entire sitting area when I want, and also so when I remove the stairs I have unabstructed access to the diesel. Ill post pics when I work it out!

Believe me, I understand about working in the heat! Its been 100-115 since i have had this boat and I am too impatient to wait for it to cool down to work on it! Lots of sweat in my eyes! Its been tough going and I cant stay down in that sweat box very long, but as you can see a few minutes at a ...

This is the messy fiberglass job the previous owner did on the floor. Gonna take a lot of work to smooth it out. Oddly enough, it seems to be strong with no weak spots. Still cant make up my mind what exactly i am going to do with it. im thinking of leveling the boat very well and pouring fiberglass ...

im gonna start by just cutting out the part over the bilge out, but still concerned about the moisture in the ballast! this boat hasnt been in the water for years and it is wet! Ok, the floor in front of the bilge area is wet but doesnt have any soft or weak spots that i can feel. the wood directly above the bilge area is rotted almost completely away! should i just pull it all up and replace it or just cut out the wood above the bilge and replace it?

the loose pellets on top of concrete seems the most likely scenerio for my boat. 1977 buccaneer 18ft

I have no business even looking at this boat, because i already have so much of a project with Easter Lily, but i cant help myself! I found a 1977 buccaneer 18 with trailer, for $1500.00 and it looks to be in very good condition! Is this a good deal??? Still learning about these boats. If i do get ...

Good points! I agree about the slim probability of rolling, but i know it can get really rough out there! I'm more concerned about the keel just bouncing up and down due to rough seas. To anyone who doesnt know, the wd40 trick, it is as most diesel mechanics say "starting fluid for diesels". Traditional starting fluid is not good at all for diesel motors, so if you do use it, only use a little at a time. it can biuld up, and cause your motor to detinate (worse on diesels than ...

possibe idea for locking down the keel???

I apologize up front if this is a stupid idea, but couldnt get it out of my head!! My redneck engineering mind is working over time.
