Believe me, I understand about working in the heat! Its been 100-115 since i have had this boat and I am too impatient to wait for it to cool down to work on it! Lots of sweat in my eyes! Its been tough going and I cant stay down in that sweat box very long, but as you can see a few minutes at a ...

This is the messy fiberglass job the previous owner did on the floor. Gonna take a lot of work to smooth it out. Oddly enough, it seems to be strong with no weak spots. Still cant make up my mind what exactly i am going to do with it. im thinking of leveling the boat very well and pouring fiberglass ...

im gonna start by just cutting out the part over the bilge out, but still concerned about the moisture in the ballast! this boat hasnt been in the water for years and it is wet! ( must be from the elements!) Thinking of cutting out a large (6" diameter hole infront of the keel trunk, behind the bulk ...

the loose pellets on top of concrete seems the most likely scenerio for my boat. I wonder if i should mix some portland cement in the loose pellets on top and let it set up. i hate to remove the pellets cause there seems to be atleast an inch to an inch and a half of loose pellets. gonna do some ...

Ok, back to the floor of this wonderful project of mine!! My balast seems to be in the form of tiny little lead pellets. the pellets are very wet! it would seem that I should cut the plywood and fiberglass overlay out so that i can dry the ballast out!??! Is this what i am supposed to do? It seems ...

This one has all the upgrades and is in excellent shape! I had planned to do exactly what you said and offer $1000 in cash. I buy and sell for a living and you definitely know what you are talking about when in a negotiation. I have made many good purchases by using just that technique! Just needed ...

1977 buccaneer 18ft
I have no business even looking at this boat, because i already have so much of a project with Easter Lily, but i cant help myself! I found a 1977 buccaneer 18 with trailer, for $1500.00 and it looks to be in very good condition! Is this a good deal??? Still learning about these boats. If i do get ...

Ok, what do I do if the plywood subfloor is wet??? I was kind of suspicious of the fiberglass work done on the floor! I drilled some holes and between the keel trunk and bulkhead the wood is wet, in the back towards the galley area the subfloor is rotted away underneath the fiberglass. Oddly enough ...

Thanks for the input! I have been leaning towards the wood look vynl. I have installed it before and was amazed at how real it can look. wasnt sure about its marine adaptability, but sounds like it will work!!! I also kind of like the idea of snap in carpet, so it can be removed and cleaned. Lots of ...

Interior ???
Im yanking my engine so i figure since its out I may as well use this time to address the interior. Really only need to address the floor covering and galley(I already removed it.)The rest of the interior seems in pretty darn good shape! Im considering a wood floor, just wondering if anyone has used ...

Good points! I agree about the slim probability of rolling, but i know it can get really rough out there! I'm more concerned about the keel just bouncing up and down due to rough seas. I like the idea of the removeable foil shaped brace that could be installed for ocean passages. I agree that that ...

possibe idea for locking down the keel???
I apologize up front if this is a stupid idea, but couldnt get it out of my head!! My redneck engineering mind is working over time. The idea of the swing keel is the only part of my c26 that really has me concerned, because of the inertia it will have if it does get bounced around, and i dont want ...
