What do you all think of this, insted of cable use 3/4 conduit. Would that not give more suport to the mast. An say you take a aluman sec-40 pipe about 2' long, an large enouf to fit over the mast cut it in haff length wise. An Atach conduit to it, an the spreders. Put a polly on it, an you have a mast raising system, that won't rip your step out. Will What Do You Think

I'm not sure that would work. I don't think the PVC would flex enough with the changing laods from the mast. Unless you're talking about covering the shrouds from the spreader down with the PVC. Then a few inches gap and that might work out real well... Interesting idea!
