one of those days

Post by ronc98 »

today was the day I needed to pull my boat from the store all. Weather is crappy in the 30's and snowing. I loaded all the extra parts into my truck and pulled the boat out of the store all. It looks amazing in the sunlight. The paint job is simply amazing.

Tried to put the door down on the storage unit and it would not go down. drove out the the office and they were out at lunch so I had to leave with the door open and somewhat broke. Did not want to but had no choice.

While driving down the road hit a pothole boat came off the hitch. I have no clue how it came off the hitch. Never had this happen before and both the coupling and hitch ball are new. Go figure. Anyway the chains kept it behind the truck. My tailgate however was what stopped the boat. you can imagine what my tailgate now looks like. Completely taco'd. It still opens so not so bad.

good news boat did not get damaged, it pushed up on the trailer a fw inches but the rubber bumbers protected the paint.

Poor truck's tailgait is toast.

Not so bad news is new tailgate shell is 160m but I will have to paint it. Glad I have awlgrip left over. It matches my truck's color perfect.

Looks like I will be picking up a case of beer on the way home.

I will post a pic tomorrow of everything.

That settles it, I'm staying at home, and not moving EE this weekend. No way that kinda luck isn't happening all over the planet.

I better just compound the hull some more.

At least that b-e-a-utiful paint is okay.

Another bad luck for a C26! On this forum we have one sunk, one aground, one who left the hitch... Someone must have cursed these boat lately, i keep mine in shop until thing get better.

Glad it did not caused too much damage, could have been much worst IMO

Here is a few pics that were taken before I got home. The more I think about it I just did not have it all the way on the hitch before I set the lock. At least there is no damage.

This is how it started minus the snow.

I will take a few more tomorrow. I hope to get it finished up tomorrow before I take it to the lake.

RC,
Sorry to read about your truck.

Can't wait to see your boat in person. The pics look great!
The snow will be gone someday and our lakes will be full again!!

After reading EE's post,
Man, am I glad I have a C-22. Right Gus? :)
