Chryslersailors.com Website - New Ownership Announcement!
Posted: Fri Jan 24, 2025 4:42 pm
Greetings and Happy New 2025,
All Chryslersailors.com members:
Chuck Lawrence (Calayr) and Dan Michaels (Skipper Dan) have graciously agreed to take ownership responsibilities for Chryslersailors.com.
They will assume ownership effective immediately. I’ve personally talked to both of these sailors and they have the passion and experience to be our new stewards. Chryslersailors.com can look forward to a new and sustained future. Sincere Thanks to Chuck and Dan for taking the helm.
Please keep an eye on the discussion forum for new announcements. Also, feel free to private message them on the Board or send an email to Discussion_Admin@chryslersailors.com with your ideas for this fantastic website.
Introductions:
Chuck Lawrence (Calayr) : My partner Bonnie and I rescued our 1976 Chrysler 22’ Sandpiper from a local farm the day she was going to the dump. For an initial investment of a few hundred dollars, we've had a million dollars’ worth of fun sailing! During the COVID lock-down in the spring of 2020, we rehabbed her interior and exterior, outfitted her with new sails and rigging, and readied her for a busy summer of sailing. The Chrysler Forum provided invaluable access to manuals, photos, overall guidance and help.
We love to share our passion for sailing with friends and family - and especially enjoy racing my brother in his Catalina 22. We couldn’t find her original name, so re-named her Dolgo. She sails mostly on Lake Winnisquam in New Hampshire, but has trailered to adventures on Casco and Penobscot Bays in Maine, Lake Champlain in Vermont and Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island.
Dan Michaels (Skipper Dan): Dan is retired, likes to design better options to most anything. Sailed the Pacific Ocean from Palau to The Philippines solo. Currently redoing a Chrysler 26 for an extended journey through the river system and Gulf of Mexico.
Fair Winds and Warmest Regards,
ChryslerSailors.com Team
