Hi Guys,
Does ANYONE have a trick as to running new wires thru my mast for a mast light, windex light etc.
My old mast wires had fallen to the bottom of the mast. Need new ones anyway.
I really don't want to go to the top of the mast while it is rigged.
That looks a little higher then I want to go. :)

Thanks again

I think stepping the mast is your only real choice. Even if you could get up there I think you would risk a "knock down" and serious injury and I assume you will have to get to the top to hook everything up.

I wouldn't go aloft in my C-22 mast. You'll put a lot of pressure in the mast step, no good.

Dropping the mast in the C-22 is fairly easy on the hard, I never done it in the water.

Hi Gus,
Yes I do not want to go up the mast. I may take off the mast head and run the wire down from there. We'll see.
I wanted you to know we have set our plans to be at Albemarle Plantation Oct 6 thru Oct 12. I see at the NC site the pirates tour your were talking about is that wknd we are leaving. If you can make it out our way that would be great.
We are towing the c-22 down for the week.

Gus, Before you send the wires down the mast, wrap them in 8 to 10" cable ties and leave the tails on. Locate them at different positons around the bundle. This will keep them centered and prevent internal slapping when moored or docked. Are you adding spreader lights?

Clair,
Excellant tip! Wish I did that to mine, and just may do it this winter... The wires slapping when trying to sleep is nice when calm, but even a slight swell causes them to make a racket!

Billy,
you shoulda left those wasp nests in the mast for sound insulation ! <G>

I got tagged right under my left eye by one this weekend - was lying on my back gluing vinyl liner all the way in the back of the stern berth. No idea where it came from, couldn'd find a nest, I think it just flew thru and got me.
