What are these?

Could someone in the Chrysler braintrust please identify the objects at top left and bottom right of first photo below? They are located on lower portion of the port side of cockpit near the transom of my C22. Second photo of the back sides is taken from inside the lazarette. I have been looking at C22 photos and see them on some of the boats but not all of them. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
