Boat work...

Rebuilt my mast truck and fabricated a top platform for the all around light and the Davis Windex...also mounted the 9.8 Tohatsu outboard. The pictures show the motor in the full down position. It has a slight downward trim angle but that is all the adjustment available. Comments appreciated concerning the motor position...that is does it look like the prop will be under the water far enough?

It all looks great! I do like the mast plate you've made! Nice indeed!
AS far as the motor goes, I think you are great for 95% of your water time. Looks like the cavitation plate is inches below the stern from the photo. If you end up in bigger seas you might hobby horse and pull it out. Generally slowing down or a dash of sail can help.
Also, note that with that much motor on your 22, that far back, if you have two adults in the cockpit AND you run the motor harder you may get some water up the rudder post and into the cockpit. Just adjust the weight in the cockpit forward or cut back on the throttle. It is NOT a problem other than an unseasoned sailor might see water coming into the cockpit as a negative thing! LOL!
I usually for warned my crew unless they were completely green. If they were green I kept the throttle down.

Thanx for the feedback Scott...I believe that we both have the same motor and Garelick mount as I recall from previous postings that you made concerning that. I was a little disappointed that the motor didn't go down further, but I followed the Garelick instructions to a tee. I also was a little disappointed that I couldn't trim the motor further,but I figure that the boat will sit quite low at the aft and that should improve the trim angle.
I still have to install my new traveler and finish the deck electrical connector and motor wiring. I will post pics and videos when I get a chance.
