I'm working trying to revive a 1978 Chrysler Sailor 250. I took the lower unit off and replaced the impeller. Here's my question:
Does a water stream come out of the two holes in the lower part of the engine (above the lower unit)?
Most water cooled engines have a big stream (waverunners have a rooster tail!) so you can visibly check that your pump is pumping. When I tested the engine, I got exhaust from those two holes but no stream. I'm guessing this is where the cooling water exits, but I could be wrong.
Can anyone educate me?
