Yesterday was the 1st day sailing my C22 which I purchased last fall. Also 1st time sailing anything other than sunfish/Hobies. Things went well except the "boom topping lift" interferes with the top of the main sail. After a little GOOGLE research it seems I should not have this tight when sailing. Question is what do I do with it while sailing? Is it just loose or do I move it back to a connection on the mast? Or? thanks

I leave mine in place but I loosen it quite a bit.
