Hello All,
I am putting a fixed mount VHF on my C-22. I am placing the antenna on the mast and I am looking for suggestions on how to run the coax cable from the mast into the boat. Where to run the cable, how to get it into the boat, what kind of connections you used. I typically keep my boat at a slip in the summer time but on occasion take it to different sailing spots. The ability to disconnect the cable to take down the mast would be fairly useful.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Devin

Mine runs internally in the mast, comes out near the step, ending in a male PL-259 connector, and at the deck there is just a simple female PL-259 mounted on/thru the deck. Slip a small waterproof boot on the cable before you add the male connector. When the connectors are mated just slide the boot cover down. You can find the female connector with a cap to use when the connecters aren't mated.
Just be sure to get a quality stainless connector. Radio Shack should have everything.
