Checking in

I've missed reading all the comments/challenges on the site and am taking a moment, just to check in. I've owned my TMI 22 for 2 years now, I sailed her for a week on Lake Geneva, Wi. last year and fell in love with my boat. But she had more sorely needed maintenance than I had anticipated at time of purchase, so I tore into the boat with every anticipation of sailing again this summer. Life threw some crazy curves and I am still in dry-dock, but have made progress and each thing I complete brings me closer to the dream. The most recent "almost completed" chore was tearing off anything penetrating the deck/ over-boring/ epoxying shut/re-drilling and re-setting with 3M 5200 fast set. Long story I won't go into right now, but when it rained, it poured - into the boat! Not anymore.
The boat's captain (yours truly) is just trying to find income for one more year when I am eligible for medicare and will be relieved of $1500 a month health insurance costs. That's why I have been away, finding ways to make income.
Last winter I went through my outboard, got it running, but am badly in need of a carb., which I will soon post, inquiring about.
Reading about all the sailing fun that many of you are having keeps me motivated!!
The goal: next spring - Lake Michigan! (I would love ANY advice about that)
