I'm rebedding all my deck hardware this spring. Among other things, the PO had run beads of 5200 along the teak trim strips on the cabin. I spent about 45 minutes scraping with a knife and got about 3 feet done, then I got smart.

I put a scraper attachment on my multi-tool and 5200 came off at the rate of 30 seconds per foot. It also worked great for trimming my fiberglass resin plugs flush.

I did keep a stone handy for occasional resharpening of the scraper.

Oh yeah! I love those things. I used one to undercut door jambs when installing a laminate floor in my bedroom.

I got one, an yes is a good thing to have.

How well would it work for removing bottom paint?

For bottom paint I used a quarter sheet palm sander. Be sure to wear good protectionespecially for your lungs.
