Going LED on Destiny

Aboard Destiny we have 12 or so overhead Halogen lights! They work great however they've begun to burn out. Guess it is time.
After some research we've opted to go with soft white LEDS. Our package of new light bulbs ( LEDs ) arrived yesterday! I hope to replace all out internal overhead 4G lights with these new LEDs! Hope the work as well as they've been built up to be!
Stern light is already LED and the bow will go LED tomorrow! Woo hoo! Destiny will draw such little current at anchor my daughter can leave her lights on all night! LOL!

I`m interested in doing the same with with my 22.
Where did you get the LEDs and what did you get them for? I`d love to hear how it works out for you.

For my C22 I replaced the overhead lights with LED light fixtures from SuperbriteLeds
Go to this page :
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/ ... .htm%23lpc
Check the dome light fixtures near the bottom. Since I do not have the pop top I put one of those just inside the sliding hatch where the original overhead was! it works fantastic! I've been in the boat at dark and love the light!
Now go up from that dome light to the utility and compartment lights.
I bought two of the smaller chrome ones and mounted them from the coach top (ceiling ) just forward of the mast one pointe slightly to starboard and the other slight port otherwise pointed forward towards the bow! This lights the roof nicely and gives the feeling of indirect lighting forward! I really like that too.
Alan has seen them and said good things.
Destiny has Halogin overhead recessed lighting. Tonight they go LED! I will update the results over the weekend!

LED's are the only way to go. I converted my C22 the first year I had her. I've had light and battery power a plenty ever since.
Drawback. Some LED's give my wife and son a headache. The inside dome light I have set up with LED for the 98% of the time I sail without them and Regular incandescent for the 2% of the time they sail with me. The dome light was originally set up for Red and White light so now it's set up up for LED and incandescent white instead. I keep the Red LED close by in the cabin to change out should they not be with me and I wnat the cabin light in while sailing at night.
Thanks

When I'm alone I rarely turn a light on anymore. I use the fancy hat bill clip on LED's. I'm 100% LED with the boat now and love it!
