My new Chrysler 22 footer

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've been reading thru post for several weeks now wince I learned I would be getting my boat. A lot of great info!
Picked her up last Friday and have a bit of work to do before getting to water. Still have to pick up mast and other rigging and find parts to repair. But my son has been excited and helping. And, if it wasn't for my brother the boat would still be sitting in someones else yard.

Welcome to the Chrysler forum, overhauling a C22 is a nice way to start out the New Year.
We will all be looking for photos of your work, case in point the cradle your boat is resting on looks interesting. A photo or two of it would be nice, I'm always looking for ideas in off trailer support. Its easy to see you had a good Christmas, hope your new Year is just as exciting.

As soon as I figure out how to post pics... I designed cradle to load off ground (she was sitting on 5 stands of concrete blocks and 2x's) onto trailer, then just sit back down once home. Since I do not have a trailer yet, when I get one I can just lower onto it.

Welcome to the forum. As mentioned above there is a wealth of information here. It looks like you're of to a good start with the sturdy cradle you've assembled..
The foam you are removing should have no structural value to the boat. The plywood bulkheads you have to remove may be structural. you should be able to tell by looking at the area around the bulkhead. A good replacement for the removed foam are the closed cell "noodles" you can find in the summer. Thay won't absorb water and with the different diameters you can do a good job of packing a compartment pretty tight.
A great demo tool for woking in tight spaces is the Harbor Freight multi tool. You can get it for 20.00 with a coupon and it comes with a variety of cutting and sanding tools. You can easily plunge cut with it and it makes a nice clean cut.
