Need ideas for secure storage of the hatch boards on my C22.
Currently my hatch board storage (after a couple tacks) is the cabin floor.
I have the slide out galley so the starboard cockpit locker is full.
I would like to have a designated spot that is convenient to the cockpit, where the boards would be held secure.

What do you guys do to keep your hatch boards off the floor?

It's not the ideal location, but since we mostly just daysail, we put them up on the V-berth. My fathers boat has lexan weather boards and a padded bag sewn to hold them. Of course the padded bag is pretty useless against personal injuries unless properly stowed (ask my big toe how it knows this). I have plans to sew up a lee cloth for the starboard bunk, to hold all our stuff steady but haven't gotten to that project yet. So ours remain in the V-berth.

I'm thinking inside the starboard settee is gonna be a great location!

Good question. I stow mine in the Port Lazerett. Then they slide under the cockpit when I'm on a Tack of about 20 degrees or so. They kind of settle there till I dig them back out at the dock.

So, yes a better storage option would be nice.

Just sitting here at work and thought, wow, if I had two of these screwed or taped in the port layette it would hold the four boards, I'd bend the legs into a circle and put a small screw through it. Note to self do NOT drill a hole through the bottom of the boat:

Picture this. a small box with open top epoxied to the inner wall facing the cockpit in the inside of the starboard lazerette locker.

I hope that makes sense. All three, or in my Dad's case 4, lay next to each other. That was std equipment on some C&C's.

On my 26 I tie them with a small bungee cord and in the starboard setee in the cabin aft end is at the bottom of companionway steps. I tried behind the steps but they crashed around tacking and they seem to be happy in the setee right next to the tiller handle.

how about under the cushions

I stow mine under the cushions. Never had them come out. I have applied a little duct tape over the hasp screw\nuts on the back side of the top board to prevent wear on the cushion bottom.
