Post by blu by you »

bought a used suzuki 9.9 for my c22 and of course it wouldnt run i just got it started today now it needs a water pump. a litle tip , on smaller engines if you remove the rope starter and put a drill with a socket into the flywheel nut you can get the motor spinning fast and for a long period of time. getting closer to the maiden voyage
im a new chrysler c 22 owner (bought it the end of may )i will be sailing out of port ritchie fl

One caveat to the electric drill (because I used it too). There is no free wheeling capability doing this. My motor ripped the drill out of my hands twice and threw it on the floor. I decided I can use this to get motors started at home but not on the water.

soooooo...if I run out of gas, and take the plugs out, and use my heavy duty drill to spin it with it in forward gear,,,,lol...a little duct tape to tape the drill to the motor and hold the trigger down....well we'd be right back on the Red Green Show thread again...

Hang that drill off your topping lift and yer all set for the water starts!

I'm a man...but I can change...if I have to...I guess.
