My 1980 C26 has no rivets; this is the first time for me hearing of them. They could be a PO's addition to hold down some type of seat cover. You could most likely remove them fill in the holes and carry on. As far as the anchor locker my hinges are the same just partly covered by a PO. Sorry for the old photo.

My 78 C26 has these rivets as well. I always thought they use to hold snaps on webbing to keep the cusions in place.

I will have to check out the cushions at home to see if there were any places for snaps on there. The rivets do not do all the way through the cabin ceiling, so that is a good possibility.

Almost everything on the boat seems well planned out... which makes the hinges for the anchor locker look extra-clunky. Like a last minute after-thought.

Like Terrence my 1980 C-26 has no rivets in cockpit and anchor locker hinges are ok if polished and bufed.

I checked the cushions last night and there are velcro strips that look to be at the spacing of the rivets. I have to assume the rivets held the velcro mates for the cushions. Thanks for the help!
