I'm going sailing with Bob on Blue Magic tomorrow

Spent a few hours this morning drooling over the C-30 and talking sailing
I really like the interior, Chrysler did a greatjob designing the boat its a real shame the didn't get to continue building boats.

Is it any wonder my 1st mate says it sounds that I seem to like the C-30 over our E-32

Well Just met Mario G....Yall need to know that the deal has had more glitches than carter has little pills. Long sotry short, before you buy a boat, or anything for that matter make sure that it has a proper tittle, or documentation. The death certificate has been nightmare, and bank foreclousures and byouts has been a total disaster on the documentation end. 5 months and still no clear title. If we get a ticket tomorrow I will send the bill to the guy on e-bay that sold it..........Took 19 days to get it from Baltimore to SC. Was an interesting trip. We found the bottom on moree than one occasion, but the ole girl ran just fine and I was impressed when we flew down the bay at 9 knots over the bottom

Over time it sounds like that there are a number of Chrysler Sailboats hovering around North & South Carolina. I'll 2ed E.E.'s request for photos please. I can't foresee my C26 once the overhaul is completed not being all the sailboat I will need... but when has that kept anyone from dreaming about something bigger?

I too have had a bad experience with documentation. Now it's one of the first questions I ask, and before any cash changes hand I see the Docs. I've walked away from more than one deal over paperwork. It just isn't worth the heart burn.

very interesting... in this very month's USBOAT newsletter they talk about a common scam going on with boats, to prey on the very careful cautous buyers who are concerned with docs... the seller suggests a escrow service as fair to both seller and buyer 'till doc issues are settled... sounds great buyer wants good deal but he is smart and doesn't want to part with cash 'till docs are clean... so... you guessed it, although the escrow has a official sounding name a like paypal or AOL.. guess what.. it is bogus and goes to a private bank account..

I can't thank Bob enough for letting me HOG the helm of his C-30, What a great sailing boat.

The trip was a few miles up the intra-costal to the Little River inlet then south down the coast to the Little River peir then back.

The day was hot but with good enough wind that we sailed around 5kts both ways, making our way past a race that takes place every weekend here.

Still being new to sailing it is always nice getting out with more experianced sailors like Bob.

The C-30 really is a step up from the 22 and 26, bigger step towards cruising range boats. It is too bad we didn't get to see where the line of boats would have gone had time allowed...

The C30 looks nice, would I want one... do bears (****) in the woods? The question for me is would I really need one. I could be wrong but the C26 I feel all in all as far as size etc would fit the bill for most on this forum. The benefit of being able to trailer with minimal trouble and expense goes a long way. Just a green horn's point of view, the C26 is one of those sailboats that's too small to be big... but too big to be small.

While walking by Blue magic's C-30 today I heard "You want to go sailing?" I was about to quote a great philosophers "do bears (****) in the woods?" but with a (****) eating grin on my face just said sure.

Its a 45min motor to the little river inlet then the sails went up. The ocean was a little choppy but we were saing around 6.5 knts average and hit 8.3 knts at some point, I few near perfect tacks we sailed back in the inlet to end another greatday sailing the C-30. Thanks again Bob

Had fun with Mario G, we put up the beat up Jenny to see how the boat sailed, only the second time out due to registration problems. Started out with a reef, then let it all hang out. Handled the 20 knots with ease. I can hardly wait for the new Jenny to arrive. ..Now that I have a title the work begins!
