Understanding Weather Helm

Everytime I heard the phrase " weather Helm" I would scratch my head, and try to grasp what exactally this meant.

Thanks to the attached article written in part by Steve Colgate..I finally understand the meaning. :D

I have never had any official training when it comes to sailing, and everything that I have done has been hands on. Being a self taught sailor, will always be looking to improve my skills & knowledge.

Good find Tim and kudos for wanting to learn so now you can practice when you get on the water

The 5th paragraph from the end describes something I wondered about on our swing keels. The center of effort is changed due to the arc of the mass as it is raised and lowered. I've used this on smaller boats but, since we've not achieved escape from terra firma yet, wondered how much difference it makes on a C-22.

Got new tires today. Trailering is now one step less scary!
