Sail Logo Restoration

I decided my old patched up main should at least have legible C-26 logos. At the advice of some artist friends I used good acrylic paint from the local art supply (Michael's). They assure me that it won't hurt the fabric and will last.

I found it helped to pencil in the outline on the most faded areas. It wasn't too hard and I think the results are worth it. Tonight I'll work on the other side.

Sweet!

Now see I would have missed this trick if the Web site were gone.

The Chrysler Brain Trust, rides again! And a hearty "High ho silver, away."

Thanks
Alan

Tom, thanks for the tip on the paint. The main that came with the project boat had no class insignia, so I followed your lead.

I laid this sail over EE's old main, lined them up, and traced in pencil, then used acrylics as you did..

So glad this was posted again. I hadn't seen this or even had the idea that I could renew my sail logos. This is going to get added to my to do list this winter. Any idea on the brand of paint and what the colors were used?

I just used the brand that was in the happy face rollback store because I was already in there..Apple Barrel was the name. Colors were 'real red' and 'real blue'. Imaginative names there, huh.. :?
