I'm looking to replace my forestay. It appears to be the same size as the backstay. Does anyone know what size diameter wire rope this is? My current one measures between 3/16ths and 5/32nds. After many years of use and stretch I'm wondering if the diameter has lessened from what might have been an original size of 3/16ths.
Thanks all for helping to clarify...

Greetings RGS!
The stays & shrouds on my C-22 are 3/16". According to the owner's manual you have two options:
For the 28' 9" mast the forestay should be 30' 1.5"
For the 26' 9" mast it is 27' 7"
It's probably best to measure the mast but the book says the longer mast is before serial # CBC33152XXXX and the shorter mast after that.
Best to you.

The 29' 6" mast seems to be a rare configuration. I've only heard of a couple on this forum for the C-22.
Definitely measure the mast before buying and cutting a new fore stay though.
I'm betting you have the 26' 6" mast. Though I must admit I kind of hope you have the 29' 6" mast. I'm curios how that taller mast behaves.
SO what part of the country do you hale from:?:
I'm hoping the Pacific Northwest, we need a few more Chrysler Sailors in these parts.
When did you get your C-22, and what is it's name:?:
Thanks
Alan

I just put my mast back up this week after working on the lights, wiring, and fittings (PO used galvanized bolts, not SS). I didn't think to measure the mast or the shroud lengths.
I was tuning my rig Saturday, and my shrouds are 5/32" dia. Except where it splits in the back, those are 1/8" each.
