Tough choice, but,,,

My wife is making me choose between a sailing vacation in TN to meet you guys or a vacation in KS to visit our grandson. It's a tough choice, but I'm afraid the monkey wins out over Watauga Lake guys.

Maybe once I start teaching full-time I'll have the money to do more than one vacation a year. Of course, dropping almost $4000 this year on medical trips to Fl for Mom didn't help any.

Nah, Not tough at all.

Family first over everything else.
Good choice you made.

I know, I'm one to complain .. . . . I ALWAYS prefer my sailing vacation but hey. Family is Family!

Family first as always... hope your Mom is well. Not to sound discouraged, but with you heading to KS is there anyone in the wings to pick up the Eastern rally ball and run with it? Not to place all the responsibility on just a few people... just want to know if there is a plan B here? I'll help in any way I can.

It was always planned as a sort of "catch-it-as-you-can" type of event. Jeff (Windward) was going to contact his local marina to see about launching and storing vehicles. And he has some info for those who were planning to camp/crew without their own boats.

I hope those who were interested will still pursue this get together as I think it can be a great time.

And which part of KS? We have a Chrysler sailor close to Lawrence and a large lake over by Manhattan.

My first mate and I are still planning on being at the Rally..

Was talking to Terrance earlier this week and I was thinkig about taking a survey to see how many boats / available crew we would be looking at...

My son is still planning on designing T-shirts to see what you all think as well..

Fort Riley, KS, which I believe is right near Manhattan. But I doubt that I can tow a sailboat that far with my motorcycle, which is typically how we travel.

Leatherneck, if ya'll need anything while passing through Missouri lemme know. I expect you'll be using I-70 and we're down on I-44 but that ain't no thang! If it fits in your schedule feel free to drop a little south into the Ozarks and bless us with a visit.
