New C26 fixed keel owner

Hi there everyone!

My S.O. and I just recently bought a fixed keel C26 in the Keys, and need lots of advice. I have seen a lot of really great restored pictures through this forum and hope someday that our boat (1978) will look like that too.

Hey everybody. KeyWest needs some cushion patterns for his C-26. No I'm not psychic today. I found KeyWest posted his request in the "Wanted" section of the forum. I told him all you C-26 owners could help out. Nice I volunteered you all C-26 owners on this one right?

EE, Winward, Chrysler20%26 I bet you guys can help.

KeyWest, ask away, lots of folks here to advise on what we can. Owe also take lots of photo's to show when you have a question or just to show us what your working on. It helps us get a clear idea what you've got or need on issues.

Thank you for the warm welcome! Yes, we bought the boat named "RagTime" in the Keys. Although my S.O. loves to sail he is new to it and knows a bit less than I do. We bought the boat as both a sailing boat and a liveaboard. We are on it only a few months a year. Unfortunately we only sailed it once for fourteen hours, when we picked it up. The motor quit on us ten minutes after we started and we had to sail it all night to get the 30 miles to our destination. Long story short, when we got to the marina we didn't move it until it was time to leave because of the lack of a working motor. It is now on the hard in a boatyard. We are going back to fix it up in a week or so. There's a lot to do, and we have no "shop". More later.

I'm relatively new here myself, but have discovered tons of information before I bought my 22' boat. I ran a very unique article on Google talking about how these boats sail themselves, and how a gentleman simply set the tiller in a blow, and let'her rip. Drank tea while his friend turned white, but simply enjoyed himself while she tracked straight and true. I believe it was a 26 footer

Good luck to you. I am working on evacuation of old foam in the starboard seating area, and it is well worth it. There is another gentleman who has fixed swing keel brackets, though I'm thinking yours will not be a-swangin'. Again, good luck. Nice folks here.
Nice enough to be almost creepy this day and age... you mean... like... people can really be nice and get away with it?? Seems to be the case.
I'm happy about it.

These are pictures of our haulout and shows the transom of our boat that I was talking about. I can tell these images aren't displaying. I hope someone can tell me what is wrong. I followed your directions but I'm using Flickr.

The HTML code to embed a photo in a web page that you used to find on the All Sizes page is now only in "Share this." To get to it just go to the main photo page, click "Share this", and then "Get the HTML." We now also include BBCode! (standard message board code)

There are a few cases where the code may not be available: 1) If the photo is restricted. 2) If that person has turned off "Share this" or access to original files.

The direct link to a photo file is no longer shown on the page. Per the Flickr Community Guidelines "pages on other websites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr." Linking directly to the photo file doesn't do this. "

So I'd suggest checking your settings as mentioned under 1) and 2)

Barring that, there is a workaround discussion at:

you came to the right place... watch your depth there in the keys... we draw a good 4 feet!

That is a very nice looking boat you have there KeyWest. Thanks for posting the photos.

The boats name Ragtime stands out in my mind. Was this boats prior owner a member of this forum. I'm going to have to go back and look now. I remember a guy in Key West who was always posting beautiful sailing photo's and stories from his C-26, when the rest of us up North here were moaning over not being able to go sailing because of our weather. He use to keep us going till we could get back on the water.

Edited: Yes I think the last owner was keysskipper, his boat was a C-26 named the Ragtime. I'll see if there are any photos of the boat...

2nd Edit:
Yup I'm sure it is the same boat! I can't find any photos but in his posts hes looking for seat cushions, had some problems with a sail loft replacing a sail, and was interested in changing his transom mountings for his Honda 9.9 outboard. This must be the same boat. Anyway KeyWest, pull up all postings by "keysskipper" and you will find lots of background info I hope.
