Frankly I'm a little embarrassed to be listed among the likes you have on your list. I may have the number of posts needed, but 90% of them are much to do about nothing. The fact that I know so little and need to ask so many questions is what has contributed to my number of post.

See that's just it. I ask lots of questions and stumble best I can with what answers I can give. It's all good. I think I learn a lot more from reading other folks issues then from any particular question I've ever asked.

Someone who really knows chimes in with a blinding flash of the obvious and we all learn. I often do that "Wow I could have had a V8!" forehead smack for some of the questions I've asked and then got back a simply sublime answer or work around form one of true big hitters who rarely posts.

I guess I'm just an arm chair stats kind of person and I find it interesting.

Although I visit the site every evening as a ritual, I don't often post due to fear of idoiticy. I just hang back and soak in from those who know. Yea, I know I'm posting some weekly questions, but it's not because I know anything special - just the opposite - I'm trying to figure this thing out!

I love this forum and novice or experience I get ideas from everyone and as the saying goes the only silly question is the unasked question.

I guess I have no fear of idiocy!

Besides, if I'm wrong, someone will correct me and I'll learn from that as well.

New that I am, I am more and more greatful for ~Alanhod's~ "blinding flash of the obvious" humor. He keeps sounding to me like a guy you could have a beer with, and be busting-out laughing for most of the evening... what great fun. How do you not like that??
That level of humor, I think, is critical to a site not becoming stodgy and stuck-up. If someone truly has a great deal of knowledge, I think it can intimidate people. It's certainly not the fault of the one with the big-bag-O'-knowledge, but people can quickly become defensive, and other lesser-smarts folks might elevate themselves for having the said "big-bag-O'-knowledge". I think, ever and always, humor is a tremendous antidote for worries, fears, and odd paranoia's.

Great things are to be learned here, and I love that we have all things on this site: the learned, the experienced, the well-networked, the craftsman, the young, the old, the newbee, and the decrepit.

If the new guys think they don't bring something to the site... they are simply wrong: the "old salts" might get bored very quickly without us. We keep it fresh, and our motivation is an encouraging reminder for the old-salts... of what they fell in love with in the first place.

Humor... I think it's "the keel"... essential for direction, stability, and when stuck on a sand bar.... for "being well grounded".
We've all been idiots before... the ones that use humor are just smart enough to admit it.

Ah, shucks. Thanks Bill!

I try to be humorous but I often worry I was a little too far out there or whats funny to me might upset someone else.

But I trudge forward, undaunted by my lack of fore thought or knowledge of all the issues. Why you ask? Because maybe my humor will make up for the knowledge and friendship I get from all of you newbies to the old salts who put up with me. It's a high point of my day to find out whats going on, on the Chrysler Sailors forum.

And as Always a big shout out to Emergency Exit (EE) for keeping this forum working and me "Tightly Focused" and not an Obsession!

And most of all my boat is a joy to sail and that is in no small part to all of you. From the moral support to the technical challenges, to 69shark (Captain Scott) coming over to my house to help with something on my boat or personally teaching me some point of seamanship. Bless you all!

Well...Papax3, I believe I am a decrepit, old newbie! If it don't hurt it don't work and there's more gray than blonde in my hair and I've only been sailing for about a year!!!

alan...I appreciate your humor. Humor levens anything! I haven't been around much lately...but, it's winter and we have snow so it's time for XC skiing and observing the critter activity in the woods! A rather lengthy bamboo fly rod restoration took up quite a bit of time and on the rare somewhat warm day I do need to be on a spring fed creek chasing them trouts. Been getting some maintenance things done at our church so they won't be staring me in the face when warmer weather gets here and I wanna be on the water. Another month here will see us into fairly decent weather and I'll be getting the Shirley Jean ready for splash. I expect my post count will soar then!!

Sure enjoy checking in and catching up tho....I never fail to learn something. Thanks for the site.

Hey Alan you can put my location as anywhere the anchor is dropped. we keep being ask where home is and all I say is "Here" due to the fact that I grew up in NY but have been on the move since the ripe old age of 17 its hard for me to call anywhere but where I'm at home.

I do keep the look out for any Chrysler sailboats in what ever anchore were at. but haven't seen anything new in the last few months.


I'm on the hunt for a C-13 in the florida area.
