I don't have a source for a pre made bushing , but there is a source for plastics if you need to make one.

www.mcmastercarr.com. They have all types of plastics... nylon, delrin, UHMWP, etc.

good luck

I do not have any idea of the source of rubber and nylon bushing. But I can say something about polyurethane bushing. As this is long lasting heat resistance and water resistance.

Check www.idasailor.com. Click on Chryslers at the left and scroll down a bit. They list them for $39 each.

Did not know Idasalor had the bushings.

Just ordered one.

I had been using an aluminum spacer to take up space on the worn bushing.

Thanks EE.

Thanks EE for the link, but now I'm confused :?
I thought the bushing and the through hull was all the same thing?
Now I see the bushing are seperate.
What would be the correct through hull to use, the part the big hose connects to?
Any one have a picture or illistration of the proper assembly of the rudder shaft through the hull?

Not sure on the 22, but on the 26 the mushroom bearing is the 'interface' between the hull and the rudder post. Keeps the post centered in the thru hull so to speak..and fits in a concave hollow in the hull that leads to the thruhull

Here is my video explanation of the replacement upper rudder bearing and lower thru hull rudder bearing for the C22 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8i_MKp ... ature=plcp
The drawings are in the documents section for the C22.

I just read about a repair that one of the Columbia guys did. It involved taking it apart, coating everything with vaseline, and reassembling. You then totally immobilize the rudder and inject thickened West epoxy into the area. It worked for him. Instructions are on the West site I think.
