Didn't want to hijack a thread so I started a new one...

I had a 3 year tarp rotation... 1st the boat, then to the hay, then to the wood pile... then to the dump! It got really old digging out the boat, wood and hay in the winter... so this is under construction and hope to have it done soon... then I'll move my projects inside!

Gee, are you sure that your boat will fit?

Sweet from top to bottom, I for one would give my eye tooth for a shop of this size as I'm sure most everyone on this forum... way to go Use it in good health and keep us up to date.

Nice job I sure could use one like that here in the NE. I have been trying to work with a group of friends to get a shop here big enough for 5 sailboats ranging from 24 to 29 feet but 2 don't have trailers so it doesn't seem likely.

Hey nice setup; but, you should see Chrysler 20%26's sister-in-laws setup. the boat floats into the building. Maybe we can get him to post a few pics of the setup?

Alan we think alike! Having the structural engineer that desingned it check to see what kinda load I can lift off the trusses... the Catalina 27 weighs close to 7000 lbs... wouldn't it be nice to lift it off the trailer!

The right side will be a horsey feeding setup and hay storage... the left side will be storage for the horse trailer... not sure if I'll be able to get both boats inside, so the C-22 may be on the left side while construction goes on inside, at least it will be under cover and keep the worst of the snow load off the tarp... there's enough scrap material left over to build the wood shed also.

Electric and the big door go in in next the couple weeks,,, then enough rock fill to buy a new set of sails will bring the ground up to floor level. The concrete floor will go in when it warms up in the spring.

Now the catch... Pam and I have been together for years... to get the home refinancing we decided to get married So now you all are correct in referring to her as my wife! But we have just signed papers... next we'll do the honeymoon in Maui next month, and then exchange vow's with a small ceremony the date for which we haven't decided yet, but before Aug 8th when we plan a small gathering to celebrate. And hoping the Cat 27 is ready for guests by then!

Incredible,,, I don't even dream of a workshop like that anymore... and between all the projects I have I really need something ... with what I have been paying out in boat yard storage and inability to workoutside in cold weather I could use it... enjoy and great time lapse slide show..

I agree Very nice would be nice here in the northeast. I am trying to get a group of us sailors here to get together and we can all work on our boats inside but as usual the big obstacle is $$$$$.

No guy's,, geeze,, Remember last week I sent the link to the picts, shop almost done,, just needed the big door & wiring???

Well last week the door guy came over, electricians were all done, had the gravel coming the next day... then the door guy says the door isn't gonna work,, somethings wrong,, not enough room at the header to the truss level....

Long story short they had to take all the metal off the shop yesterday to lower the floor level 12", and put in a new header for the big door,,, thus the "wainscoat" gray around the bottom...

that's what the picts showed last nite...
